Please take a moment to look back at the founding of M&C Trucking Company and where we are today!
M&C Trucking Company was founded in 1946 by John Muchesko and two partners. Originally called Swank Trucking, M&C Trucking Company was a dump operation that hauled clay and firebrick for Swank refractories, a firebrick manufacturer in Johnstown, PA. The first truck is pictured above. In 1961, M&C Trucking bought its first tractor trailer (all the previous units were tandem dumps). In 1971, M&C bought its first diesel powered tractor. In 1975, John P Muchesko (JP) joined M&C trucking as the second generation of the business. M&C was incorporated in 1977 and got its first ICC operating authority. In 1981, M&C trucking secured a general commodity as a committed contract hauler certificate. Ellie Muchesko joined the business officially in 1982 when she and JP got married. In 1986, M&C Trucking moved to our current facility in Seward PA that gave the business room to grow. As time and business conditions changed, M&C went from hauling coal and fire clay to focusing on steel and steel making products. In 2000, M&C Trucking paved the Keck Street parking lot. In 2015 Anna Muchesko joined the business full time, making M&C Trucking a third-generation business. In 2017, M&C Trucking built an updated office building to fit the business’ needs and Laura Muchesko joined M&C. M&C Trucking currently hauls steel bars, billets, ingots, coils, sheets, mill rolls, refractories materials, railroad wheels and axles just to name a few. M&C Trucking does have some van trailers and still runs triaxles, especially during construction season, when they can be seen hauling stone and blacktop.
